Just a quick recap of local politics and incoming commissioners and sheriff in the November General Election.
Commission incumbent Board Chairman George Trujillo will step down and will be replaced with Dave Maestas or Trinnie Bruce Cordova as new commissioner for District 2. Cordova is a write-in on the ballot. Eloida Wanda Martinez or Francisco Chavez on the Libertarian ticket will take over from incumbent Veronica Serna as District 1 commissioner.
And Johnny Trujillo, senior commissioner from District 3, will serve until 2028.
The race for Mora County Sheriff will be decided in the November General Election when Americk Padilla faces off with Michael Benjamin.
